Managing Director

Paul Williams is a managing director in the London office and part of the Global Restructuring practice. He has more than 22 years of corporate restructuring, recovery and advisory experience. Paul joined MCR in 2002 and went on to become an equity partner. MCR became part of Kroll in 2011.

Paul trained with a top ten practice before spending a year working in Australia with one of the Big 4. He has acted as lead advisor to many senior lenders including corporate banking, ABL and investment funds. Assignments range from financial advisory and debt restructuring through to enforcement, particularly in relation to property matters where the appointment of LPA receivers may be necessary.

Paul’s experience includes both buy side and sale side for distressed assets, including loan portfolio sales for senior lenders and private equity, work out options, and implementations. He has also supported management teams in relation to financial and operational turnarounds offering balanced and pragmatic solutions. Paul’s sector expertise includes the property, leisure, hotels, aerospace, manufacturing, music and media sectors.

He regularly partners with accountants, tax advisers and management to maximize returns to shareholders in solvent liquidations (MVLs).

Paul is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a licensed UK Insolvency Practitioner. He is a board member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), a former member of the Examination and Training Committee of the IPA, and he formerly sat on the Editorial Board of the Recovery magazine (the official publication of R3, the Association of British Recovery Professionals).
