Diogo Pais

Diogo Pais is a director in Duff & Phelps’ Oil and Gas group of the Valuation Advisory Services practice, based in Mexico. Diogo has over 10 years of experience in the global oil and gas industry, advising international companies on upstream operations and operational and financial due diligence processes across various industry subsectors like LPG and renewables.

Before joining Duff & Phelps in 2014, Diogo was a consultant at a European boutique consulting firm, Accuracy, in Madrid. He has also worked as an internal auditor at a Portuguese oil company GALP and was an economist at Apifarma.

Diogo has rich experience in advising and reviewing joint ventures, especially regarding cost allocation systems, budget control mechanism, cash calls, cost legalization, improvement of internal control and risk management systems. This has helped him generate significant value for his clients, preparing monetary claims in the context of joint venture audits and improving procedures of joint venture operators.

He has also led financial and operational due diligence engagements across the hydrocarbon value chain (upstream, refining, marketing and midstream) in Portugal, Spain, Africa, South and Central America, and the Caribbean.

Diogo holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Economics from Nova University of Lisboa.
