Chris is a managing director at Duff & Phelps and is a part of the firm’s Disputes, Investigations and Valuations practice. Since 1997, Chris has provided assistance to clients and the Court with respect to the quantification of economic losses, the valuation of businesses and business interests, intellectual property and other intangible assets. He has prepared valuations, damage quantification and expert reports for various purposes, including: oppression and appraisal remedies, shareholder disputes, family law, fairness opinions, corporate governance, employee stock option plans, succession planning, shareholder disputes, corporate reorganizations, financial reporting, income tax, and mergers and acquisitions.
Chris has testified as an expert before the Courts and in mediations and arbitrations. Chris holds an Honours Degree in Business Administration from Richard Ivey School of Business and Administration at the University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. Chris is actively involved in various committees of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Chris is a contributing editor of Canada Valuation Service, a Thomson-Carswell periodical and has written numerous articles on the subject of business valuation. Chris is a frequent speaker at conferences throughout Canada on the subject of business valuation, acquisitions and divestures.
